Three Words of Strength

Three Words of Strength
by: Friedrich von Schiller

"There are three lessons I would write-
Three words, as with a burning pen,
In tracings of eternal light,
Upon the heart of men.

Have hope! though clouds environ round,
And gladness hides her face in scorn,
Put thou the shadow from thy brow,
No night but hath its morn.

Have faith! where're thy bark is driven-
The calm's disport, the tempest's mirth-
Know this: God rules the hosts of heaven,
The inhabitants of earth.

Have love! not love alone for one,
But man as man thy brother call,
And scatter like the circling sun,
Thy charities on all.

Thus grave these lessons on thy soul,
Hope, faith, and love; and thou shalt find
Strength when life's surges rudest roll,
Light when thou else wert blind."

This quotation from Friedrich von Schiller is one of my favorite poem which we discussed when I was in high school.

It inspired me to never lose hope. Even in the darkest night, there is always a light.

It inspired me to have faith. I never questioned Him for what is happening in my life. I believe that everything has a reason. I know that He is in control.

It inspired me to love. Love not only ourselves, but love our neighbor as much as we love ourselves.

So have hope, faith, and love. Happy Easter and God bless!
